JAKARTA-The Government will change the curriculum in 2013 to emphasize the cognitive, affective, psychomotor through test-based assessment and portfolios which complement each other.
The new curriculum will be applied to all levels of education, from elementary school to high school or vocational education.

"Students for next year's subjects are no longer much to memorize, but more science-based curriculum," said Minister of Education and Culture Mohammad Nuh told reporters at the Office of the Vice President on Tuesday.

Nuh said that  the orientation of curriculum development in 2013 is the achievement of competence balance between attitudes, skills and knowledge, as well as a holistic way of learning and fun.  

For the elementary level, he said, currently there are 10 subjects that were taught, those are religious education, citizenship education, Indonesian language, math, science, social studies, arts and culture and skills, physical education and sports health, as well as local content and self-development.
